That overachieving student….

Throughout my childhood i have always been told that i had this perfect life and of course i had it all together because i was one of those overachieving kids who excelled in almost all the fields that they were interested in for eg in my case it was academics, sports, music, art, dance, public speaking ,IT and well what not.But as glamorous as this may may seem there are of course many downsides to this situation. Don’t get me wrong i am not here to make this sound like some sad story and of course IT IS NOT A SAD STORY AT ALL but there’s this another side of this story that i think should be talked about. So here we go…..

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION

All your school life you get use to having this great profile with good grades and excelling in co curricular but the reality of life is YOU FAIL,the getting back up is all that counts. We all need to know that failing is a part of life and should be accepted gracefully.

BEING GOOD AT EVERYTHING

After lifetime history of being an achiever ,you may start to live under the pressure of being good at all the things you do but of course that is not possible in real life. Also living under those expectations is a bit too harsh and it may really get to you at times to an extent to cause a breakdown.I have been there a lot of times.

HARD WORK ALWAYS PAYS OFF

You are a student and working hard gets you all the good grades you want but in life a lot of times we may put our everything into a project and still get nothing in return.Actually its never nothing ,there’s always a hidden lesson to learn but that’s whole another story.

YOU WILL ALWAYS BE APPRECIATED FOR YOUR GOOD WORK

When you are a good student usually you get a great support system with teachers and parents always acknowledging your efforts. Well then you get into college or life ahead and that is definitely not going to be the case.In reality most people will try to bring you down and expecting acknowledgement might be a bit of a stretch .You gotta be your own cheerleader.

There is probably a lot more to talk about but putting them in words is quite a task, may be later there would be a part -2.
